All eyes were on Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier heading into Tuesday's Commissioner's Cup final between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx.
Collier and Clark were given the best odds to win the Commissioner's Cup MVP title before the game. Collier (-170) had a rather pedestrian performance with 12 points and nine rebounds as her team suffered a heartbreaking 74-59 loss in the final.
Clark (+180), on the other hand, did not even suit up for the game after being ruled out due to a lingering groin injury.
Aliyah Boston (+2800) was the next leading MVP candidate for the Fever, but she, too, came up short. Boston did manage to secure a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double with six assists, two steals and a block, but it just wasn't enough for her to bag the MVP trophy.
That honor was given to Fever veteran Natasha Howard, who came through for Indiana with 16 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals. After the game, the two-time All-Star was named the unanimous MVP of the game, which also meant that she went home with the $5,000 bonus.
Despite missing out on what would have been her first MVP title, Boston was quick to congratulate Howard for her unexpected win. Boston took to Instagram to post a two-word reaction to Howard's big night.
"So deserving " Boston wrote.

For what it's worth, Howard entered the game with the eighth-best odds to win the MVP trophy at +10000.
It's safe to say that the three-time WNBA champion forward upset the odds on Tuesday night to make an incredible career milestone.
