Following the Indiana Fever’s exit in the first round of the WNBA playoffs, Aliyah Boston underwent surgery to repair the lateral meniscus in her right knee. She suffered the injury while playing in the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled during the past offseason.
Boston averaged career highs of 16.1 points and 1.5 steals during the 2026 campaign, along with 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. That being said, it was certainly impressive that she maintained that level of production while dealing with an injury.
Unfortunately, Boston’s surgery meant that she would not be able to play in the third season of Unrivaled. To recall, the league announced in August that the Fever forward-center would return after signing a multiyear deal.
Unrivaled confirmed the development on Wednesday while also announcing Boston’s replacement.
Toronto Tempo forward Isabelle Harrison has been selected to take Boston’s spot in the league’s player pool.
“Isabelle Harrison is Unrivaled,” Unrivaled wrote. “Harrison will join Unrivaled for the 2027 season as Aliyah Boston continues recovery from a procedure and is expected to return in season four as part of her multi-year deal.”
It will be Harrison’s first season with Unrivaled, although she has competed in offseason leagues in previous years, including Athletes Unlimited.
Harrison is coming off a career year with the Tempo. She posted career highs in several statistical categories in 2026, recording 12.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 32 games.
Unrivaled is scheduled to kick off on January 8, 2027, at TD Garden in Boston.
