Angel Reese is just a few weeks away from her second WNBA season, and there are big expectations for her and the Chicago Sky this year. Reese was an All-Star as a rookie, setting rebounding and double-double records in her inaugural campaign.

A wrist injury ended her season - and Chicago's hopes of making the playoffs - but the future is bright as Reese heads into year two.

As she gets ready for her sophomore season in the league, Reese took the time to reflect on some of her most notable accomplishments at the age of 22.

"Retired my momma Became a homeowner All at 22. So blessed," Reese said.

Reese surprised her mother by paying her mortgage on her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast, allowing her mother to retire. The basketball star said that being able to help her mother in that way was "a dream come true."

Reese has been able to translate her success on the court into endorsement deals and sponsorship opportunities. She's been a part of major advertising campaigns for companies like McDonald's and Reebok, and is slated to have her own signature shoe.

The Chicago Sky will look to build on last season's rebuild effort after adding Reese and Kamilla Cardoso in the 2024 Draft. This year, the Sky used their first round pick to select one of Reese's former college teammates in Hailey Van Lith.

"We ain’t do it right the first time. Let’s run it backkkkk," Reese said on Monday, reacting to the Sky selecting Van Lith. Reese and Van Lith were teammates in 2024, making the Elite Eight in Reese's last college season at LSU.

The Sky also added Notre Dame's Maddy Westbeld, Texas A&M's Aicha Coulibaly and Ajsa Sivka of Slovenia.

Chicago will begin the season against a familiar opponent in the Indiana Fever. It's the latest installment in the rivalry between Reese and Caitlin Clark, building on their meeting in the 2023 national championship game.

Clark and Reese are two of the stars leading the league into the next generation, and it seems that they've both managed to find personal success as they get deeper into their professional careers.
