Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese delivered a standout performance in the Unrivaled League, playing a key role in helping Rose BC secure the second seed with an 8-6 record. Reese's dominance on the defensive end earned her the tournament’s Defensive Player of the Year award, along with a spot on the Second Team All-Unrivaled in the inaugural season of the 3-on-3 women’s basketball competition.
However, Reese’s run was cut short after she suffered a hand injury during Rose BC’s 74-46 win over Vinyl in the final regular-season game. Despite her absence, the Rose went on to claim the championship, defeating the Laces in the semifinals before sealing the title with a 62-54 victory over Vinyl in Monday night’s championship game.
Reese’s injury sparked immediate concern among fans, especially since her WNBA rookie season was cut short with a wrist injury. With speculation mounting over the severity of her injury, the former LSU star addressed the situation on Instagram live, reassuring her followers with a strong message.
"My wrist is FINE," Reese said. "Don’t ask again."

The update comes as a major relief for fans of the WNBA star, as it seems the hand injury she suffered during Unrivaled play is not a re-aggravation of her previous wrist injury. Now, the Sky will be hoping for a smooth recovery as they prepare for the WNBA season to resume in May.
Reese had a stellar first year in the league, finishing as the runner-up for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award behind Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. She also led the league in double-doubles, and as she eyes her second season, expectations are high for her to take another leap forward when she returns to action this summer.
