Angel Reese caps dominant stretch with another honor

On Sunday, the Atlanta Dream towered over the Minnesota Lynx and took home a victory, 89-81, just in time for the team to enter the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Break.

In that game, Dream star Angel Reese set a new WNBA record. 

"With her 29th double-double, Angel Reese now stands alone with the most in a single season in league history," the team announced on social media after the game.

Well, as if that little bit of history wasn't enough, Reese is at it again. She just got another honor in the WNBA.

Angel Reese earns another WNBA honor

On Tuesday, the WNBA officially announced that Reese is the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week. This is her second week in a row winning the title.

"The honor marks Reese's second with Atlanta and fourth of her three-year WNBA career," the WNBA said in a statement. "Reese led the Dream to a 2-1 record during the week, averaging 14.4 points, 17.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game."

She's the second Dream player to earn the honor, along with Rhyne Howard. It's a nice way to go into the long break.

It's not really a break for Reese, though. Now, both Reese and Howard will play for the United States at the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Germany.
