The Chicago Sky played their second preseason game on Tuesday, defeating the Minnesota Lynx 74-69. This was Chicago's first preseason contest against a WNBA team, having opened exhibition play against Brazil last week.

Looking to build on her strong rookie season, second-year forward Angel Reese finished with nine points and eight rebounds in the win over Minnesota. Chicago was led in scoring by veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot who finished with 11 points in 20 minutes.

Before the game, Sky head coach Tyler Marsh told reporters he was making the decision to give rookie guard Hailey Van Lith extended minutes off the bench (via Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune).

Delivering on his promise, Marsh played Van Lith 17 minutes against Minnesota, an increase from the 13 minutes she logged against Brazil. This decision to increase Van Lith's minutes gave Chicago longer look at its No. 11 overall pick, and there was a lot to like.

In addition to dishing out five assists, Van Lith converted on a tough 3-point attempt that drew the attention of her teammate.

"oh my HVL," Reese wrote on her Instagram story, resharing the Sky's post of Van Lith's lone basket on Tuesday.

Reese and Van Lith played together for one season at LSU. While they fell to Caitlin Clark's Iowa Hawkeyes in the Regional Final, the duo had some strong moments together.

Now reunited, Van Lith and Reese hope to lead Chicago back to the WNBA playoffs after the Sky finished last in the Eastern Conference a year ago.
