Angel Reese Had Three Words After Latest Injury Development

Angel Reese was nowhere to be found at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday as the Chicago Sky suffered a 92-70 defeat against their biggest rivals, the Indiana Fever. Reese, who is currently dealing with a back injury and was ruled out for the game beforehand, was not with her team as they lost out to a shorthanded Fever side that did not have the services of Caitlin Clark, among others, due to injury.

According to head coach Tyler Marsh, Reese did not attend the Fever game in order to focus on her rehab. Without Reese in the mix, the Sky suffered their fourth loss to Indiana this season and fell to 8-23.

Reese has since rejoined her team and was spotted at team practice on Monday as the Sky prepared for their matchup against the league-worst Connecticut Sun on Wednesday. She did not, however, take part in practice and was seen in street clothes cheering from the bench.

On Monday night, Reese took to social media to send a three-word message, presumably about her looming return to the court.

“in due time,” she posted on X.

While Reese still has no timetable for her return, she is considered day-to-day. However, the fact that the 23-year-old was not able to practice on Monday does not bode well for her chances of suiting up against Connecticut on Wednesday.

Reese has now missed five straight games due to her back issue and seven out of the Sky’s last eight contests. In 23 games played this season, the former LSU star has produced averages of 14.2 points, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.7 minutes per contest.
