The Chicago Sky have a long stretch before they return to game action.
After a treacherous schedule, the Sky, set to face the Minnesota Lynx, won't play another game until Sunday. Chicago currently sits at 5-11, having won two of their last three games.
As the Sky regroup, they received big news from the WNBA regarding Angel Reese.
The WNBA announced Reese as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 6 of the WNBA season. It's the first time she has earned the prestigious honors this season.
"Eastern Conference: @Reese10Angel | @chicagosky 19.7 PPG, 17.0 RPG, 2 SPG," posted the official social media account of the WNBA.
Reese reacted to the WNBA's announcement by reposting the news on her personal social media account.
During Chicago's Week 6 stretch, Angel Reese led the team to two victories over the Los Angeles Sparks. They finished the week with a 2-1 record, having lost to the Golden State Valkyries.
Reese capped off the week with averages of 19.7 points, 17.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, an incredible stat line for the second-year WNBA player.
Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson joined her in the WNBA's honors list. Wilson won the Western Conference Player of the Week after averaging 23.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game.
Both players proved their versatility, showcasing immense talent on the offensive and defensive ends.
In her second season with the Chicago Sky, Reese is averaging 12.4 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
