It's a new era for the Chicago Sky under new coach Tyler Marsh.
Marsh, who won two titles with the Las Vegas Aces as an assistant coach, has taken over for former coach Teresa Weatherspoon, who was fired after just one season.
Marsh will lean on second-year stars Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso and returning guard Courtney Vandersloot. The Sky also added TCU playmaker Hailey Van Lith after drafting her as the 11th overall pick.
Chemistry won't be an issue for Reese and Van Lith as they played together at LSU, making it to the Elite Eight of the women's NCAA Tournament in 2024.
Speaking of the Tigers, the 22-year-old Reese and the 23-year-old Van Lith will return to Baton Rouge for a preseason game against Brazil's national team at Pete Maravich Assembly Center (PMAC) on Friday.
Reese didn't hide her excitement about her homecoming at LSU.
"PACK THE PMAC! SEE Y'ALL TOMORROW!" wrote the Sky forward on her Instagram story.
It will also be a special game for the 24-year-old Cardoso, who hails from Brazil.
Reese led the Tigers to the national title in 2023, beating the Caitlin Clark-led Iowa. She was named Most Outstanding Player after tallying 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the championship game.
In her two seasons at LSU, she became an SEC Player of the Year, a two-time member of the All-SEC First Team and two-time member of the SEC All-Defensive Team.
"I'm very excited the Sky will play a preseason game at LSU," said Reese said in an earlier report by CBS Sports. "It will be amazing to return to Baton Rouge, a community that means so much to me.
"LSU was instrumental in preparing me for the WNBA and I can't wait to hit the court in front of both Tigers and Sky fans."
