The Chicago Sky enter Sunday night’s matchup against the Minnesota Lynx (16-2) with a 5-11 record, but they've shown signs of progress, winning two of their last three games.
A big reason for that momentum is second-year forward Angel Reese, who’s coming off a dominant performance last Sunday against the Sparks, where she posted 24 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks.
Ahead of the team's clash with the Lynx, the WNBA and Sky officially announced that Reese has been selected as a reserve for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. She’s the only Sky player to earn the honor and has now been named an All-Star in each of her first two seasons in the league.
During a pregame interview, Reese reflected on what the All-Star selection meant to her, especially the moment she shared with her teammates during shootaround earlier in the day, when the news became public.
“It felt really good,” Reese told Chicago State of Mind Sports. “Obviously, I’ve known for a couple of days now and I had my emotions to myself, but that was the first time my teammates found out. Like I said earlier, individual awards don’t happen without the team, and I’m just so grateful to have them."
She continued, "They pushed me through everything—when I was having my down days, and even when I was having my up days, they were always in my corner. That’s the part of this team that you love. It’s a sisterhood, and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Angel Reese has consistently credited her teammates and coaches for her success. After a slow start to the season, she expressed full confidence in first-year head coach Tyler Marsh — and that belief has paid off, fueling one of the most dominant stretches of her WNBA career.
Reese has recorded 16 or more rebounds in each of her last four games, and she's continued to elevate her all-around game.
On the season, she’s now averaging 12.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, while shooting 40.6% from the field and an improved 79.2% from the free-throw line.
