Angel Reese Shares Life Update After Skipping Unrivaled

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is arguably the biggest missing piece in the second season of the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league. The 23-year-old was a major draw in the league’s inaugural campaign last year. Reese was also part of the Rose Basketball Club, which won the first-ever Unrivaled championship.

Reese dealt with a lingering back issue this past WNBA season, though. She missed 14 games throughout the campaign, including the final four contests of her second year with the Sky.

The former LSU Tigers star played 30 games in 2025, averaging 14.7 points on 45.8% shooting, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.6 minutes per game. Reese was named an All-Star for a second straight season.

Reese has been working hard during the offseason to get back to full strength. Despite her busy schedule, the 6-foot-3 forward makes sure to remain consistent when it comes to her trips to the gym.

On Monday, the Sky star shared a photo showing her offseason workout progress. Reese lifted her shirt to show off her toned abs.

“i love offseason training & oh the results even better,” she captioned her Instagram post.

Reese is expected to be fully healthy for the start of the new WNBA season. At this point, however, there is still no guarantee when this will be. The league is still locked in negotiations with the players’ union as both parties try to find common ground on a new CBA.

The league previously announced that Reese and the Sky will open their season on the road on May 9. They will face the Portland Fire, one of two new expansion teams for the 2026 season.
