Angel Reese appeared to be subtweeting Sophie Cunningham with one of her latest posts to social media.

The Chicago Sky star Reese made headlines last week by walking in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Reese became the first-ever professional athlete to do so.

Sophie Cunningham was impressed with Angel Reese's appearance

Among those who reacted to Reese’s history-making appearance was the Indiana Fever guard Cunningham.

In a post to her Instagram Story, Cunningham spoke about her own new dietary restrictions and notably said, “I guess I’m gonna turn into a Victoria’s Secret model. Call me Angel Reese.”

Cunningham also elaborated further during an episode of her “Show Me Something” podcast. She said that she was now inspired to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Show after seeing Reese do so (while offering praise to Reese as well).

“Angel walked in it, and she killed it. Like, absolutely killed it,” said Cunningham. “I texted my agents right away and I was like, ‘Please!’ This has been a dream of mine since I’ve been in like second grade. I’ve always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret model.”

Angel Reese responded to Sophie Cunningham

On Thursday, Reese then seemingly posted a shady response to Cunningham while sharing the behind-the-scenes video from her Victoria’s Secret walk.

“Since everybody wants to be apart [sic], let me take you behind the scenes,” Reese wrote. “So excited to share my further relationship & the long-term contract I have with VS.”

Given the context of Cunningham’s comments, that seemed like a very intentional choice of words by Reese. It would not be surprising either if there was some tension between the two given the heated rivalry between the Sky and the Fever (especially when it comes to Reese and Cunningham’s star teammate Caitlin Clark).
