Angel Reese Teases Major Announcement on Monday

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are back in action as the WNBA regular season approaches, set to begin on May 17. Reese already looks in midseason form, posting 15 points and 10 rebounds in the team’s first preseason game on Friday against the Brazilian National Team.

With the Sky off until Tuesday—when they host the Minnesota Lynx—Reese teased a potential major appearance on Monday morning, just hours ahead of the 2025 Met Gala, which begins at 6 p.m. ET in New York City.

She sparked buzz online with a simple three-word post that had fans buzzing with excitement, as she's recently been put on the guest list for the event.

The event is expected to feature several high-profile names from the sports world, including LeBron James, Lewis Hamilton, Simone Biles, Jonathan Owens, Sha’Carri Richardson, and others who have hinted at attending.

Last year, Reese attended the Met Gala the day before a preseason game—and still suited up the next day to play against the New York Liberty. It looks like she may follow a similar schedule this time around, with the Sky set to face the Minnesota Lynx at 7 p.m. ET the day after the event.

This year’s theme, entitled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” will pay homage to black dandyism and “[explore] the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora,” per the Met.
