The Chicago Sky went 2-8 in July and find themselves on a six-game losing streak. Star forward Angel Reese missed three of the team’s 10 games this month due to a back injury, including their matchup against the Indiana Fever on Sunday.

Reese, when healthy, has averaged 14.2 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season. She was awarded the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the fourth week of June after averaging 19.7 points, 14.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in Chicago's three games that week, in which they went 2-1.

Reese recently added yet another award to her resume, this one from her team.

On Thursday, Reese was named the Chicago Sky's Player of the Month for the second straight time despite only participating in seven July games. She averaged 18.1 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists, as the Sky were 2-5 in those contests.

Reese won the award over teammate Kamilla Cardoso, who participated in all games across July, averaging a double-double with 12.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.

The slumping Sky have an opportunity to put an end to their losing streak on Friday night, when they host the Golden State Valkyries, a team that has struggled to find consistency themselves, going 3-3 in their last six and 7-7 in their previous 14 games.

Reese is not on the injury report ahead of the matchup, meaning she should be suited up without restrictions.
