The Chicago Sky wrapped up their preseason on Saturday night with a hard-fought loss to the Minnesota Lynx, finishing with a 2-1 overall record.

Now, they shift focus to the regular season opener on May 17, when they’ll face Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

But before the season tips off, the team is celebrating some exciting personal news. According to "PEOPLE," veteran Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot and her wife, fellow WNBA star Allie Quigley, welcomed their first child on April 8.

The couple shared a heartwarming photo holding their newborn daughter, Jana Christine Vandersloot Quigley.

"We are over the moon to welcome our baby girl to the world," Vandersloot and Quigley, told PEOPLE. ""We have been dreaming of this moment for a long time, and it’s better than we could have ever imagined!"

The power couple has been married since 2018 and made sports history in 2021 as the first married couple to win a professional sports championship together, accomplishing the feat with the Chicago Sky.

While they kept their relationship private for over five years, they eventually went public—receiving widespread support from the sports world. Their connection dates back to around 2012, when they first competed against each other in the EuroLeague.

Vandersloot, now 36, remains a key contributor to the Sky's roster this season. Rising star Angel Reese recently spoke highly of Vandersloot, emphasizing her leadership and experience as Chicago aims to build on last season’s momentum.

"Sloot's a great vet," Reese tweeted. "She's a great leader. She's made my life easier and I'm sure Kamilla's as well."
