After winning the first two games of the 2025 WNBA preseason, Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky dropped their final game before the regular season, falling to the Minnesota Lynx, 92-87, on Saturday night.
Still, the Sky may have a lot to look forward to this season. Their front-court duo of Reese and Kamilla Cardoso had a full offseason under their belts, while Tyler Marsh replaced Teresa Weatherspoon as Chicago's head coach.
But the most exciting offseason move may have been bringing back point guard Courtney Vandersloot after two seasons with the New York Liberty. The five-time All-Star played in Chicago from 2011 to 2022, bringing the franchise a championship in 2021.
On Sunday, Vandersloot and her wife, Allie Quigley, had something more to celebrate on Mother's Day, revealing they have welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Jana Christine Vandersloot Quigley, per People.
"Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley are expanding their team! ," People wrote on Instagram. "The Chicago Sky player and her basketball star wife welcomed their first baby together, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal."
Following Tuesday's preseason win over the Lynx, it appeared Reese got a first look at Jana Christine before the news went public.
In a video posted on social media, it appears Vandersloot is pointing toward the crowd before both she and Reese perform the "baby cradle" gesture. The former LSU star seemed excited for Vandersloot, smiling and putting her hand over her mouth.

In Saturday's preseason loss to Minnesota, Reese finished with 10 points on 2-of-8 shooting, three rebounds and five assists. Vandersloot, on the other hand, was unable to play due to a rib injury.
Following a 2-1 preseason, the Sky will open regular season play in Indianapolis, taking on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday. The game begins at 3 p.m. ET and will be televised on ABC.
