Arike Ogunbowale can now move forward after a legal situation tied to an incident at a Miami nightclub came to an end, per TMZ.
According to reports, the battery charge against the Dallas Wings star has been dropped roughly two months after her arrest tied to an altercation at E11EVEN Miami. Ogunbowale had celebrated a championship victory with her Mist BC teammates in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league before the incident unfolded later that night.
Police accused the four-time WNBA All-Star of striking a security guard during a dispute involving several people inside the South Beach club. Authorities said the alleged punch caused the guard to fall to the ground before officers arrived at the scene. Ogunbowale was later taken into custody around 4:20 a.m. on March 5.
The reason behind the dropped charge has not been publicly detailed.

Before the arrest made headlines, Ogunbowale and Mist BC had wrapped up a memorable night on the court. The veteran guard helped lead her team to the Unrivaled title with an impressive performance in the championship game.
Ogunbowale scored 19 points during Mist BC’s 80-74 victory over Phantom BC, helping cap off a successful run in the growing offseason league. Several teammates, including Breanna Stewart, later joined the celebration in Miami.
Despite the legal situation, Ogunbowale never stopped drawing attention for her play on the court. The Wings star remains one of the WNBA’s most recognizable scorers and continues to hold a major role for Dallas heading into the upcoming season.
The legal development now closes a chapter that followed Ogunbowale throughout the past several weeks.
