The Indiana Fever visited the Atlanta Dream on Saturday for their final preseason game. It was the first time the new-look Atlanta team played in front of the home crowd. Due to that, they tried to put on a show by playing intensely on the defensive end.

Unfortunately for the Dream, they had an 81-76 defeat at the hands of Caitlin Clark and her squad. Clark had 13 points in 23 minutes and got her teammates involved with seven assists. While Indiana's star player was present, Atlanta's Brittney Griner was only on the floor for two minutes.

The good news is, the reason why Griner had a limited playing time was due to rest.

Before the start of the game, though, the team introduced their newest star. It was the first time that Brittney Griner was introduced to the home crowd since she signed a one-year deal to play for Atlanta.

When her name was called, the crowd erupted and had an energetic reaction.

The fans know how great Griner is. During her 11-year stay with the Phoenix Mercury, the 6-foot-9 center built her reputation as one of the best stars in the WNBA.

The Dream's center is a nine-time All-Star, a six-time All-WNBA, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and a one-time champion. Griner is one of the most consistent two-way players in the league, winning a scoring title twice and locking an All-Defensive spot for seven seasons.

The frontcourt star averaged 17.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks with Phoenix. The fans expect the same type of contribution from the Dream star.
