PHOENIX — Former Phoenix Mercury center and Atlanta Dream’s Brittney Griner reacted to her return to Phoenix ahead of tomorrow’s matchup.
Griner will play her first game back in Phoenix after signing with the Atlanta Dream in February. The Mercury posted a series of photos of the former Mercury on Instagram, highlighting key moments during her time with the team.
“I feel the tears already,” Griner said, with crying and laughing emojis.
The Mercury drafted Griner as the first-round pick in 2013. Griner spent 11 seasons with the team and won the WNBA Finals with Phoenix in 2014 — the franchise’s third.
In her final season with Phoenix in 2024, Griner averaged 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
