Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd led the UConn Huskies to an 82-59 national championship victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in April.

The tandem's strong performances helped the school reach its 12th championship in school history. Bueckers scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Fudd scored 24 points and snagged five rebounds.

Their connection continued off the court as Fudd attended April’s WNBA draft to watch the Dallas Wings select Bueckers with the first overall pick. Furthermore, during the Wings game on Saturday against the Atlanta Dream, Fudd was in attendance to root for her former teammate. The 22-year-old  attracted a line of fans during halftime as they waited to have a photo taken and receive her autograph, showing the amount of attention their bond has gained.

Fudd and Bueckers' connection started in high school at the USA Basketball camp. The two competed against one another and sparked an unlikely pairing. Soon after, the tandem joined the Huskies with help from Bueckers' #GetAzziToUConn campaign.

Following this, they spent four seasons together at UConn under longtime head coach Geno Auriemma, and they developed their relationship as they dealt with devastating injuries and tough rehabilitation sessions. Their bond also led to fans starting dating rumors, who thought their relationship  was more than a tight and mutual bond.

Both have shut down the claims and reiterated that they have a strong relationship built off sisterhood and being there to uplift one another throughout the toughest careers.

As for Dallas' game, Bueckers recorded 11 points, four rebounds and five assists in the 83-75 loss to Atlanta.
