The Indiana Fever are coming off a sluggish loss to the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday night, dropping to 6–6 on the season. On Sunday, they’ll have a chance to bounce back when they face the 5–7 Las Vegas Aces.
Fever point guard Caitlin Clark struggled against the Valkyries on Thursday night, finishing with 11 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists while shooting 3-for-14 from the field and 0-for-7 from beyond the arc.
That said, Clark is putting together an impressive sophomore campaign in the WNBA. Aside from a brief absence due to a quad injury, she’s been one of the league’s top performers this season.
Ahead of the 3 p.m. ET matchup, Aces head coach Becky Hammon shared high praise for Clark, who currently leads all players in WNBA All-Star voting.
"She's a beast, and she's just going to continue to keep getting better," Hammon said. "But she's a player you have to be physical with. If you just follow her around, she's going to cook you for dinner."

In her second season with the Fever, Caitlin Clark is averaging 19.9 points, 8.7 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game, while shooting 41.7% from the field, 35.5% from three-point range, and 79.4% from the free-throw line.
Clark recently opened up about the mental side of the game, noting how she’s learning not to be so hard on herself and embracing the reality of off nights during a grueling 40-game season.
“I’m not gonna play perfect for 44 games, and I think that’s really where I struggled last year,” Clark said. “I held myself to such a level of perfection every single night that I wasn’t really giving myself much grace. I didn’t play very well at Golden State… I wasn’t defeated after the game.”
