Brittney Griner Accused Of Making 'Racist' Caitlin Clark Comment

WNBA star Brittney Griner is under fire this weekend for something she allegedly said about Caitlin Clark.

Earlier this week, the Atlanta Dream defeated the Indiana Fever on the road. Griner led the charge for her squad with 21 points and 8 rebounds. That performance catapulted her into the WNBA’s top 20 all-time for rebounding.

Just two days later, the Dream and Fever squared off again in Atlanta. During Thursday night's game, the cameras panned over to Griner frustrated on the bench. She was visibly upset with a call made by the officials. That being said, fans are convinced she took aim at Clark.

In fact, a video accusing Griner of calling Clark a "trash white girl" has gone viral on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

This video of Griner on the bench voicing her displeasure has over 2.3 million views. It's important to note that no one actually knows what she said during this clip.

As you'd expect, countless people jumped to conclusions about what Griner said on the bench. Of course, there are some fans who aren't ready to accuse the All-Star center of making nasty comments about Clark.

"Just a reminder: this is who we traded for the Russian Merchant of Death. Now imagine if Clark had said the inverse," Riley Gaines wrote on X.

"I expect a full investigation from the WNBA," one person declared.

"I'm not sure if she said '[expletive] wack call.' Not sure how y'all know exactly what she says here lol lip reading isn’t always accurate," another person said.

Throughout her WNBA career, Griner has received praise for being a great teammate. It's hard to imagine her making racial remarks like this mid-game.

Griner hasn't said anything about this viral video. She may have to address it depending on how much coverage it gets around the league.

For now though, Griner is in the clear.
