Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner is enjoying parenthood. That much is clear after the WNBA All-Star opened up about her life since welcoming her son, Bash, six months ago.

In an ESPN interview on Tuesday, Griner discussed various topics, from her offseason preparations and her participation in Unrivaled — the new 3-on-3 league founded by fellow WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.

At one point, Griner was asked about being a parent and how her life has been since her partner, Cherelle Griner, gave birth to their child on July 8.

The 34-year-old responded with a rather passionate message while highlighting how her partner has been huge in raising their kid.

"I've been in awe from the moment he got here," Griner said of her baby, per ESPN. She also joked about her need to keep up after Bash learned to crawl.

"My wife is really being a trooper, taking on a lot of the load so I can get settled and get ready for basketball. But this is the best thing that has ever happened in my life."

Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner met while they were students at Baylor University in Texas,  per People.com . The former played for the Baylor Bears from 2009 until her graduation in 2013, while the latter finished school a year later with a political science and government degree.

The couple got engaged in 2018 and had their wedding a year later in 2019.

Now, they are proud parents to a young baby boy. And clearly, Brittney Griner is loving her life as a parent.
