The Atlanta Dream are now just one win away from booking their spot in the second round of the WNBA playoffs. The Dream took down the Indiana Fever in Game 1 on Sunday, 80-68, and are now heading to Game 2 on Tuesday, looking to close out the best-of-three series with another victory.

Brittney Griner was quiet off the bench in Sunday’s victory, registering just two points on 1-of-4 shooting, two rebounds and one assist in eight minutes of action. Head coach Kyle Smesko tightened up his rotation in Atlanta’s first postseason game, with only one player from the second unit logging more than eight minutes against Indiana.

Despite her modest showing on Sunday, however, Griner is just glad to see her team take the W. She took to social media to share a video from the game, including her interacting with the fans after the win.

In the clip, Griner is seen handing out bricks to some of the supporters at Gateway Center Arena. This is the literal translation of the “brick by brick” mantra Griner has been living by throughout the season.

In her post, Griner revealed her one regret from Sunday’s victory against the Fever.

"I wish I had started doing this sooner," she wrote, referring to her decision to distribute bricks to the fans.

Griner’s “brick by brick” mantra emphasizes patience and steady progress. This season has not been the best for the 10-time All-Star, who lost her spot in the Dream starting five after a mid-season injury. Griner is also averaging a career-low number this term.

Nevertheless, she’s remained patient and resilient. She’s completely bought into the Dream’s objectives this season, and Griner has been willing to take a step back to help the team move forward.

Griner and the Dream will be looking to add another brick to their wall on Tuesday against the Fever. They will be playing at Gainbridge Fieldhouse against an Indiana side that will be leaving everything on the court. Nevertheless, Atlanta remains confident that it has what it takes to close this one out in hostile territory.
