Brittney Griner joined the Atlanta Dream in the past offseason and helped the team top the WNBA Eastern Conference with a 30-14 record. She averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 39 games played.

Atlanta made the 2025 playoffs as the No. 3 overall seed, facing the Indiana Fever in the first round. Unfortunately for Griner and the Dream, they lost to the Fever in three games, ending their championship dreams.

Amid the WNBA offseason, Griner returned to Unrivaled for its second season. She also changed teams, getting selected by Vinyl BC after playing for Phantom BC in 2025.

Now, Griner has a shot at winning the championship in the 3-on-3 league. Vinyl BC, which finished sixth in the regular season, beat No. 3 Laces BC in the first round of the playoffs to secure a spot in the semifinals.

Vinyl BC dominated Laces BC 82-69 in their showdown, with Rhyne Howard and Dearica Hamby combining for 55 points. Griner, for her part, recorded six points, two rebounds and one block in five minutes of action.

With the win, Vinyl BC now heads to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where it will face the No. 1 seed and Griner's former team, Phantom BC, in the semifinals.

Following the team's win, Griner didn't hide her excitement, posting a video of the players' celebration and some of her highlights from the game.

"See yall in Brooklyn," Griner wrote in the caption of the post.

Vinyl BC and Phantom BC meet on Monday. It will certainly be interesting to see how impactful Griner will be, especially against a shorthanded team.

Phantom BC lost Defensive Player of the YearAliyah Boston and guard Dana Evans due to injuries, replacing them with Makayla Timpson and Aziaha James.

The winner of the showdown moves on to the championship game on Wednesday to face the winner of the Breeze BC-Mist BC clash.
