The Atlanta Dream are looking to make a strong showing in the WNBA's Commissioner's Cup, and Brittney Griner is excited to eventually be back in the ATL in front of the team's home fans. For now, the Dream have one more road game against the Connecticut Sun on Friday as the team is riding a four-game winning streak.
On Friday, Griner took to Instagram with an energetic update that sparked excitement among Dream fans. Griner posted a hype video via Instagram Reels about her excitement to return back to her new home, labeling Atlanta as "lit."
"It was good to be back in the ️!" Griner said in the Instagram message posted on Friday. "It’s about that time now "
Griner posted a short clip with included her feelings about playing a home game in the Commissioner's Cup.
“Super excited to be back in the A. I was missing it. I was missing being at home with my wife, with my baby, and then just being in the A. I really love this city, this city is lit.”
While she didn’t officially confirm her return to the court, her upbeat tone suggests she could be back soon, just in time for the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Griner captioned the post, "Bout that time ."
The Commissioner’s Cup is officially underway, with the next five games counting toward the special in-season competition. There's more than just pride on the line—teams are battling for a shot at a $500,000 prize pool.
For the Dream, there’s also a powerful cause attached. Each win will trigger a donation to The Center for Black Women’s Wellness, a local nonprofit focused on uplifting the health and well-being of Black women and families in Atlanta.
