Brittney Griner started a new chapter of her WNBA career with the Atlanta Dream.
Griner recently began her first season with the Dream after playing an extensive period with the Phoenix Mercury, chasing WNBA titles alongside Diana Taurasi.
In the Dream's first game of the season, Griner and company suffered a 94-90 loss to the Washington Mystics. In that matchup, Griner posted 18 points, eight rebounds and one assist.
The Dream then followed that game with a matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. In a thrilling game against the former Rookie of the Year, Atlanta won 91-90.
Now, the Dream will be welcoming Clark and the Fever to Atlanta for a game on Thursday night.
Before the contest tipped off, WNBA reporter Meghan Hall revealed an important injury update on Griner's teammate, Jordin Canada.
According to Hall, Canada is expected to make a full recovery from her knee injury, which she suffered during the preseason. Hall also explained that the Atlanta Dream revealed that Canada is expected to "resume activities" in the next several weeks.
