The superstar guard delivered an impressive performance but is also facing a fine from the WNBA.

Kelsey Mitchell backed her with 26 points and three three-pointers, while Aliyah Boston contributed 22 points, four rebounds and five assists.

Indiana Fever: Caitlin Clark to receive a fine from WNBA

Clark was whistled for a technical foul for arguing a call with one of the referees. She will receive an automatic $500 fine for it.

“Technical foul on Caitlin Clark,” WNBA beat writer Tony Eastman wrote. “She’s whistled for an offensive foul the possession before, one that she didn’t like against Yamamoto. Aces miss the free throw.

The three-time All-Star finished the regular season tied for the most technical fouls. The referees issued her eight, along with the Phoenix Mercury’s Kahleah Copper and the Atlanta Dream’s Angel Reese.

Clark and the Fever will once again visit the Aces at Michelob Ultra Arena on Thursday. The winner will advance to the next round to face either the Minnesota Lynx or the New York Liberty, while the losing team will get eliminated. Another big performance from Indiana’s three-headed monster will be crucial in dethroning the defending champions. However, their role players, particularly the bench, have to step up to lessen the pressure on Clark, Mitchell and Boston.
