Caitlin Clark Gets Technical Foul After Getting Shoved During Fever-Sun Game
David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

There was no shortage of intensity in Tuesday's matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun.

Caitlin Clark was right in the middle of a heated altercation in the third quarter of the game--one that resulted in multiple technical fouls from the players involved.

Early in the game, Clark got into it with Sun guard Jacy Sheldon. The two exchanged words in what looked like an intense conversation, and it set the stage for what was to come.

At around the mid-way point of the third quarter, Clark got poked in the eye as Sheldon attempted to take the ball away from her. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year did not like it at all, which resulted in Clark pushing Sheldon off.

Players from both teams quickly jumped in to get between the two players. Sun guard Marina Mabrey sent Clark to the ground with a forceful shove, which made the entire situation even more intense.

The referees stepped in to de-escalate the situation. They reviewed the incident and decided to penalize the players involved.

Clark got a technical foul for shoving Sheldon, who, for her part, was called for a Flagrant foul for poking Clark's eye. Tina Charles and Mabrey were also hit with technical fouls.

It is worth noting that this is Clark's second consecutive game in which she was called for a technical foul. The 23-year-old also received a tech in the Fever's 102-88 win over the New York Liberty on Saturday for arguing a call with the refs.

Clark, who picked up six technical fouls last season, was able to keep a clean record in her first four games. She's now gotten techs in two straight games, so she will want to dial it back a bit moving forward.
