Caitlin Clark has been working through her second season in the WNBA, riding out a new year with head coach Stephanie White.
Last season, Clark helped lead the Indiana Fever to the postseason while winning the Rookie of the Year award and being named a WNBA All-Star.
Now, in her second season with the Fever, Clark has taken another step toward improvement.
However, Clark is sidelined with a quadriceps injury, having missed the last three games for the Fever. During that span, Indiana has gone 1-2.
While Clark works her way back into the lineup, rehabbing through the injury, she took to social media, sharing a kind note for Kate Martin.
"See you v soon ily," Clark said. "Happy birthday Kater."
Martin, Clark's former teammate with the Iowa Hawkeyes, was celebrating her 25th birthday.
During her second season with the Fever, Clark has posted 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game.
In her first season with the Golden State Valkyries, having been selected for the team's inaugural season in the expansion draft, Kate Martin has averaged 6.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.
She previously played for the Las Vegas Aces during her rookie season in the WNBA.
As Caitlin Clark explained, she and Kate Martin will soon meet on the court.
While Clark prepares to get back to game action, she'll be playing the Golden State Valkyries in a matchup against the Indiana Fever on June 19 at 10 p.m. ET.
Indiana stands as the No. 3 team in the Eastern Conference and the No. 7 team in the WNBA standings. Golden State is 2-4, good for No. 5 in the Western Conference and No. 9 overall.
