The Indiana Fever notched an impressive victory on Sunday afternoon, taking down the Connecticut Sun with a 99-93 final score in overtime. This victory stopped a two-game losing skid and improved the team's season record to 19-16.
The Fever recorded this win despite some serious injury issues. The team lost both Sydney Colson (ACL) and Aari McDonald (foot) to season-ending injuries earlier this month. And during the second quarter on Sunday, Sophie Cunningham suffered what appeared to be a serious leg injury.
Caitlin Clark has missed the last month of on-court action since a groin injury she suffered on July 15.
The healthy players on the Fever roster delivered on Sunday. Kelsey Mitchell recorded a game-high 38 points and Aliyah Boston notched a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double in the victory.
With her 15th double-double of the year, Aliyah Boston set the all-time single-season franchise record for the Fever. She overtook the No. 1 spot from Clark, who set the previous record of 14 in her 2024 Rookie of the Year campaign.
Boston also holds the No. 3 spot on the Fever's franchise list, recording 13 double-doubles in 2024.
"AB, the double-double machine," the Fever wrote on X. "Congrats to Aliyah Boston on becoming the new franchise leader for most double-doubles in a single season with 15 & counting!"

Boston now has nine more regular-season games to add to her historic single-season double-double total. The 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year is averaging 15.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in her third professional season.
The Fever will face off against the league-leading Minnesota Lynx in their next matchup on Aug. 22.
