Caitlin Clark watched on as the No. 6 seed Indiana Fever suffered a Game 1 loss to Brittney Griner and the No. 3 seed Atlanta Dream 80-68 in the first round of the 2025 WNBA Playoffs.
Clark was one of five Fever players who suffered season-ending injuries, forcing her to miss the entire postseason alongside Chloe Bibby, Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald and Odyssey Sims. Yet, the Fever managed to stay competitive for the majority of Game 1.
Indiana now turns its attention to Game 2 on Tuesday, when it will host the Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. After playing both playoff games on the road in Connecticut in 2024, this will mark the Fever’s first postseason home game since 2016.
Despite the injuries and the Game 1 loss, Clark is energized for Game 2 in Indianapolis. On Monday, she requested every fan in the city to pack Gainbridge Fieldhouse and support the team in a win-or-go-home situation.
"First home game since 2016," Clark said. "I need to see every single person in Indianapolis, whether you're inside the arena, could be outside of the arena, I don't care. Show up. Get loud for my teammates. We need to get a dub and then we're taking back to Atlanta. LET'S GOOOOOO!"
Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard and other members of the Fever also urged fans to show up.

The last time Indiana hosted a WNBA playoff game was nine years ago, when the No. 5 seed Fever lost 89-78 to Griner and the No. 8 seed Phoenix Mercury in a single-elimination first-round matchup. It also marked Tameka Catchings' final WNBA game.
The Fever will face the Dream in Game 2 on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
