On ESPN's top 50 WNBA player rankings released in April, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clarkwas ranked 10th in the league . She was behind Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers , who was listed at No. 8, but ahead of Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese, who was placed 22nd.

The ranking received plenty of backlash, with many noting that Clark deserves to be in the top five.

The Fever guard played just 13 games in 2025 due to a groin injury and a bone bruise, so that might have affected her ranking. Still, it's worth noting that during Clark's rookie year when she was fully healthy, she was an MVP candidate and a member of the All-WNBA First Team.

On Wednesday, ahead of the league's 2026 season, Bleacher Report shared its own ranking of the top 25 players in the WNBA. Interestingly, the list put Clark at No. 4, ahead of Bueckers (No. 5) and Reese (No. 20).

"The last time we saw a healthy Clark, she finished fourth in MVP voting as a rookie, averaging 19.2 points and 8.4 assists per game," Hunter Cruse of Bleacher Report explained. "After missing most of last season due to multiple injuries, she's expected to return to superstar form—potentially even as a serious MVP contender.

"Her open-court playmaking, pick-and-roll passing and pull-up shooting already rank among the best ever, but the next step in her offensive development is improving her left hand and diversifying her shot profile."

Only A'ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier and Alyssa Thomas are ahead of Clark on the list, which speaks volumes about how impactful she has been for the Fever.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Clark will be able to live up to the expectations as a top five player in the WNBA. The Fever made it all the way to the WNBA semifinals without her last season, only losing to Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces after pushing the series to a full five games.
