The Indiana Fever have found unexpected success with Caitlin Clark out of the lineup.
Clark has missed ample time this season, playing just 13 games in her second season in the WNBA. Despite the loss of Clark, the Fever have won five straight games.
Fever star Aliyah Boston has taken over for Clark. She's found immense success, gradually improving on the offensive end as a scorer and facilitator.
On Tuesday, the Fever announced that Boston was awarded the most recent Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.
"Your @WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week, Aliyah Boston," posted the official social media account of the Indiana Fever. "@aa_boston recorded three straight double-doubles in our three wins during the week of July 28-August."
After the announcement, Caitlin Clark took to social media, sharing the news about Boston, showing respect to her Indiana Fever teammate.
Caitlin Clark was previously announced as a WNBA All-Star captain during her second season with the Indiana Fever.
She's been an All-Star in both seasons she's been in the WNBA, having already established herself as one of the top guards in the WNBA.
Throughout her second season in the WNBA, Clark has posted 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game for the Fever. Clark leads the Fever in average assists and is No. 2 in scoring behind Kelsey Mitchell.
Aliyah Boston has been the backbone of the Indiana Fever's success this season. Boston has led the Fever to wins over the Seattle Storm, Dallas Wings, Phoenix Mercury, Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces during their five-game win streak.
In her third season in the WNBA, Boston has averaged 15.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
