Kelsey Mitchell has been exceptional for the Indiana Fever this season. The 5-foot-8 guard is currently averaging a career-high 24.3 points per game. She has been a pivotal piece for the team since joining the Fever in 2018 as its second overall pick in the WNBA Draft.

Mitchell made WNBA history on Thursday yet again, extending her record for most consecutive games scoring 20+ points, with 21.

The four-time WNBA All-Star led the Fever against the Dallas Wings at the American Airlines Center. Mitchell scored a game-high 37 points on 50% shooting from the field and a highly efficient 57.1% from three.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the home team escaped with a 91-85 win. The Wings were led by Arike Ogunbowale’s 32 points, two rebounds and three assists.

Mitchell said that she doesn’t pay too much attention to statistics, claiming that it’s circumstantial to her. Despite the achievement, the nine-year veteran said that she would’ve liked to get the win more. Even so, she still praised her Fever teammates for always making her look good.

Caitlin Clark shared her reaction to her fellow Fever star’s achievement. Clark shared Indiana’s post announcing Mitchell’s latest feat via an Instagram story.

“Kelsey Mitchell is ELITE . 21 games in a row is now the new WNBA record for most consecutive games scoring 20+ points,” the Fever said in the caption.

Mitchell and the Fever will get a chance to bounce back in their next game. They will travel to Barclays Center on Saturday to face the New York Liberty.
