The Indiana Fever fell just short in a nail-biter against the Atlanta Dream, losing 91-90 in their second game of the WNBA season. Despite the defeat, Caitlin Clark once again dazzled, posting 27 points and 11 assists, marking her as the only WNBA player with the most games scoring 25+ points and 10+ assists.
Aaliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell also stood out, scoring 24 each for the Fever, while Rhyne Howard sealed the win for the Dream with a go-ahead free throw in the final seconds.
Clark kept the Fever alive in the fourth with her signature deep threes, trimming down a 13-point deficit and even briefly giving Indiana a late lead.
However, Atlanta held firm, thanks to Brittney Griner’s 21 points and a strong team effort that included Brionna Jones’ double-double.
Before tip-off, there was a heartwarming moment when two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson met Caitlin Clark courtside. “Dream come true, you know,” Watson said, grinning as he met the WNBA rookie sensation. Watson’s wife, Angie, once played in the WNBA for the Charlotte Sting, which made the meeting even more meaningful.
“Dream come true, not for her, but for me.”

“My wife played four years pro,” he told Clark. "I brought you a driver wherever it went to sign for you."
Watson didn’t come empty-handed either, he gifted Clark one of his personal golf drivers, signed and ready for her to use. “It’s yours. That’s for you,” he said. A known golf enthusiast in the offseason, Clark was clearly thrilled by the gesture.

Watson, who won the Masters in 2012 and 2014, posed for photos with Clark and soaked in the electric atmosphere of Gainbridge Fieldhouse, calling it “amazing.” Even pros get starstruck, and Tuesday night was proof.
