Caitlin Clark’s worldwide impact was made clear Sunday just by virtue of the greeting she received from the head coach of Team Brazil.
Clark’s Indiana Fever faced the Brazilian women’s national team in an exhibition game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Ia. on Sunday, with the Fever winning 108-44. Clark was mic’d up during the game, and had a neat interaction with Brazilian head coach Leo Figueiro.
Figueiro was caught on Clark’s microphone greeting her and calling her an “amazing player,” then paying her the ultimate compliment.
“You’ve changed the history in basketball,” Figueiro said.

Clark has only played one season in the WNBA, but has already had a huge impact on the game, no matter what her detractors might say. She showed why during the exhibition contest by making one of her signature threes, and wound up with 16 points.
Clark and the Fever are set to open their regular season schedule on May 17. Chances are you’ll be able to see her play no matter where you are.
