Caitlin Clark Responds to New Indiana Fever Post on Wednesday

Caitlin Clark is still out with a strained groin, and she will therefore miss Thursday's game between her Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces. Somehow, even without her, the Fever have managed to string together seven victories in their last 11 games, including Tuesday's Commissioner's Cup victory.

Clark has made her impact felt since entering the league last year, both on and off the court. She has helped generate a tremendous amount of interest in both the WNBA and women's basketball overall, and she has formed plenty of strong friendships with her Fever teammates.

But apparently, those teammates may not trust her in an emergency.

In an Instagram video, Fever players were asked who they would call in an emergency. Clark said she would hit up Aliyah Boston, but no one picked Clark, not even Boston, who said she would pick forward/center Brianna Turner or guard Kelsey Mitchell.

Clark responded with a comment to the post.

"Confused why no one said me …." she wrote.

There is no doubt the Fever are a harmonious bunch, not to mention a talented one. They added forward Natasha Howard, a two-time All-Star, and sharpshooter Sophie Cunningham during the offseason, and they entered 2025 as one of the favorites to win the WNBA championship.

They currently have an 8-8 record, and once Clark gets healthy, they could be poised to get hot, especially after the All-Star break. They currently rank fourth in both points per game and offensive rating, but they're an anemic eighth in defensive rating.

After hosting the Aces, Indiana will face the Los Angeles Sparks at home on Saturday and the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday, July 9.
