Caitlin Clark is bringing high demand to Indiana Fever games. If the second-year star leads them closer to title contention, big names could soon flock to Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
CBS's We Need To Talk asked Clark and other Fever stars which celebrity they'd most like to see sitting courtside. Clark chose a basketball fan currently preoccupied with an NBA playoff series.
"Timothée Chalamet. I think we're gonna get him to a game," Clark said. "Timmy, he'll be here."
Clark wasn't the only one to name a star actor. Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell invited Michael B. Jordan to Indiana.
DeWanna Bonner picked Serena Williams, who recently became an owner of the WNBA's Toronto expansion franchise. Sophie Cunningham wants to see Justin and Hailey Bieber courtside.
Clark's prediction may not be entirely far-fetched. Chalamet has visited Madison Square Garden to watch New York Knicks games this postseason.
Fortunately for Clark and Indiana fans, the Dune star didn't leave The World's Most Famous Arena happy on Wednesday night. The Pacers erased a late double-digit deficit to open the Eastern Conference Finals with a stunning 138-135 win.
Tyrese Haliburton sent the Game 1 matchup into overtime with a last-second shot that ricocheted off the rim and into the net after hanging in the air. Aaron Nesmith made eight of nine three-pointers, six within the fourth quarter's final five minutes.
Clark celebrated Indiana's dramatic win on social media.
"Pacers are the greatest comeback team I've ever seen," Clark wrote in all-caps.
If the Pacers block the Knicks from the NBA Finals, Chalamet might not be in the mood to cheer on the Fever. Then again, Clark and Co. host the New York Liberty this Saturday and again on June 14.
Perhaps Clark should be careful what she wishes for if Chalamet sits courtside to root against Indiana this season. However, she probably won't see him at State Farm Arena when the Fever play the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night.
