Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark entered Thursday night’s matchup against the Atlanta Dream, outperforming her rookie season numbers through the first two games of the 2025 WNBA season.
In 2024, she averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game. So far this year, she’s averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game.
Wednesday was a travel day for the Fever as they headed to Atlanta, and that night, they had the opportunity to catch Game 1 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Final on TV. To no one’s surprise, they were cheering for the Indiana Pacers over the New York Knicks—and they got what they wanted as they won 138-135.
The Pacers overcame a 14-point deficit with just over four minutes left to force overtime, but it was Tyrese Haliburton’s game-tying shot at the buzzer that had the basketball world talking.
Before the Fever’s game on Thursday, Clark spoke to the media and shared that she recorded her reaction to Haliburton’s shot. The reigning Rookie of the Year added that she’s keeping the video private for now.
"I was in my hotel room," Clark said. "It was a good thing I had taken a nap earlier in the day, so I could be able to stay up for overtime. But, I regretted not taking a video of myself when Tyrese made the game-winner versus the Bucks. So I have a video on my phone. I'm never going to show anybody. I sent it to a few people. I videotaped myself, like, the final play, and I have my reaction in real time, and it's a pretty iconic video. Maybe one day everybody will see it, but no, not right now."
Caitlin Clark says she took a video of her reacting to Tyrese Halliburton’s game-saving shot last night because she wanted to record her live reaction.

Clark went on to discuss the excitement surrounding basketball in Indianapolis right now, with the Pacers making a deep playoff run and the Fever still in the early stages of their season.
