The Indiana Fever tipped off their preseason on Saturday with a thrilling overtime victory against the Washington Mystics — all while second-year star Caitlin Clark was sidelined with a minor injury.
Fortunately for fans, the injury wasn’t serious enough to keep her out on Sunday, when the Fever faced off against the Brazilian National Team in Iowa City, Iowa. The game took place at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, where Clark became a college basketball icon.
The arena was packed with both Iowa and Fever fans eager to welcome her back after a legendary four-year collegiate career that saw her become the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I history.
Fever head coach Stephanie White, hired this offseason to lead the franchise’s new era, embraced the moment in style. She sported a pair of custom Travis Scott Jordan 1 Lows, designed in both Iowa and Fever colors and featuring the logos of each team.
The shoes quickly drew attention — especially from Clark, who reacted with excitement on Instagram following the team’s dominant 108–44 win.
"Coach got aura," Clark posted.

Stephanie White has deep ties to the Fever franchise — having served the organization as a player, assistant coach, and briefly as head coach. Now, she returns once again to lead the team, this time with championship aspirations after last season’s first-round playoff exit.
The Fever made several impactful free agent signings this offseason, and their presence has already been felt in the first two preseason games. Veterans like DeWanna Bonner, Sophie Cunningham, Natasha Howard, and Sydney Colson have all emerged as key rotational pieces.
They join a strong returning core that includes Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Lexie Hull, giving the Fever a balanced and competitive roster heading into the 2025 regular season.
