Saturday afternoon brought another thrilling WNBA matchup as the New York Liberty visited the Indiana Fever. The game was tight and intense, coming down to the final seconds in Indianapolis.
While the defending champion Liberty pulled off a 90-88 win, the game didn’t end without controversy. Officiating played a big role late in the game, with several calls sparking frustration from the Fever.
After the game, Moreau Sports Media highlighted the Fever’s reaction, quoting Aliyah Boston: "We don't really have a choice. They're going to call what they're going to call...we just have to finish through contact."

The critical sequence came with just two seconds left, when Lexie Hull was whistled for a foul on Sabrina Ionescu, who went to the line and sank both free throws. On Indiana’s final possession, Caitlin Clark had the ball, but it was ruled a clean steal by Natasha Cloud, ending the game.
Boston had a monster game for Indiana, leading all scorers with 27 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Clark played 37 minutes, finishing with 18 points, 10 assists and five rebounds. For the Liberty, Jonquel Jones posted 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Ionescu added 23 points.
The loss dropped Indiana to 2-2 on the season, while New York improved to 3-0.
Next up, the Liberty return home to host the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday. The Fever will hit the road to face the Washington Mystics on Wednesday.
