Caitlin Clark's Fever Teammate Goes on Social Media Rant

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever fell to 2-3 on the WNBA season with an 83-77 loss to the Washington Mystics in Baltimore on Wednesday night.

Clark sat next to the coaches and watched the entire game from the bench as she continues to recover from a left quadriceps strain.

Meanwhile, the attention surrounding her and the Fever since her arrival last season has been on another level compared to other WNBA teams. Every little thing Clark and her teammates do is in the public eye, and people on social media always have something to say, whether it’s praise or criticism.

Clark's teammate, Brianna Turner, had something to say about all the negative things fans post on social media. She took to social media herself on Thursday and posted a thread consisting of three posts.

Turner started off by saying that she doesn't "understand how some people get on social media and spread negativity."

"I’m unsure if it’s due to a lack of compassion, empathy, or self-reflection, but I will never understand how some people get on social media and spread negativity relentlessly," Turner said. "Making it their sole mission to bring others down. I drive myself crazy trying to figure out why."

Turner then went on to clarify her rant isn't in regards to something "specific" and that she would never have the "energy" to do what these people do.

"This is a general theme I’ve noticed," Turner added. "It’s NOT targeted towards a specific event. I personally would never have the energy to be chronically online and rude to strangers, but to each their own. Maybe it’s a way for people to express themselves bc there’s rarely accountability."

Turner wrapped up saying she's always blocking out the negativity.

"I’ve encountered every type of person on this platform, so I shouldn’t be surprised, yet I oftentimes find myself doing a double take at some of the content I see," Turner stated. "Mute function in constant overdrive mode."

Turner has only played in two of the five games this season, logging just six and nine minutes. The 2019 No. 11 overall pick out of Notre Dame has recorded a total of one point, three rebounds and two assists.

Turner is in her first season with the Fever after spending the first five years of her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury and last season with the Chicago Sky.
