It didn't take long for Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark to adjust from college basketball to the WNBA. In her rookie season, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists, winning Rookie of the Year and being named to the All-WNBA first team.
On Saturday, the Fever are set to open the 2025 preseason, and Clark’s second year, by hosting the Washington Mystics. However, with a second preseason game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday, Indiana has listed Clark as questionable for the first game of the back-to-back.
This is likely just a precaution to keep Clark fresh for Iowa fans on Sunday. According to Fieldhouse Files' Scott Agness, she "was at practice and moving around just fine" on Friday.
"No need to panic," Agness wrote on X. "Caitlin was at practice and moving around just fine. It’s the first game of a back-to-back, and Sunday’s game is for her and Iowa fans."

This exhibition game is about getting a look at everyone, as I explained in my daily recap:https://t.co/nhMzMeuMxU
Like Agness, Clark doesn't seem too concerned about the injury announcement either. Shortly after the Fever revealed their injury report, Clark shared a post on her Instagram story, featuring a photo of herself and new coach Stephanie White.
"T-minus 1 day til preseason hoops," the Fever captioned their Instagram post.
The Fever have reloaded their team in hopes of a championship in Clark's sophomore season. Along with adding the 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year, Indiana has added veteran experience to surround Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston.
The Fever brought in forward two-time champion DeWanna Bonner from the Connecticut Sun. They also added former Defensive Player of the Year Natasha Howard and sharpshooting guard Sophie Cunningham.
Clark and the Fever will get Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky in the May 17 season opener. Compared to last season, Clark should be much fresher with a full offseason under her belt.
