The Indiana Fever protected their home court on Tuesday versus the Washington Mystics with an 85-76 win . The Fever didn't have Caitlin Clark, who was ruled out because of his quad injury. However, Indiana made sure to do a better job in their second bout against the Washington squad.
The first time they played against each other was the game the Fever ruled out Clark for at least two weeks. The former Iowa star is expected to miss at least two weeks of action. It could end after their game on Saturday against the Chicago Sky.
Even without Clark, the team managed to secure a win and end their three-game losing streak.
Immediately following the team's third win of the year, Clark posted on her Instagram stories. First, she shared the post from sports photographer Bri Lewerke, showing some snaps of her in the game.
The second post she had on her Instagram stories was a post from the Fever's social media account. Indiana acknowledged their 1-0 record at the WNBA's Commissioner's Cup.
Kelsey Mitchell had a great game with 24 points, three assists and two steals. Her teammate, Lexie Hull, added 14 points and four rebounds.
The Mystics, meanwhile, had the tandem of Kiki Iriafen and Brittney Sykes work together to try and win the game. The two players had 20 points apiece. Iriafen added nine rebounds and shot 81.8% from the field. Sykes had six rebounds and four assists.
The next game for the Mystics will be on Thursday , against the New York Liberty. Like their contest tonight, it'll be a Commissioner's Cup game.
