Caitlin Clark spent plenty of time in the gym after her rookie season with the Indiana Fever, and WNBA fans noticed her massive change in the team's season opener on Saturday.
Clark showed off a noticeably bigger physique in the win over the Chicago Sky, leading to the term "Caitlin Clark's Muscles" becoming a breakout Google search during the game. The ESPN broadcast of Saturday's game even mentioned the influx of attention for Clark during the game, displaying a graphic about the search interest.
Some top members of the Fever front office were ready for the attention, noting that Clark had put in a lot of hard work for the body transformation.
“There’s been much ado about her guns,” Amber Cox, the Fever’s chief operating officer, told the Guardian.
Sarah Kessler, the team's head athletic performance coach, added that Clark found the newfound attention for her muscles amusing.
“She was obviously very proud of it,” Kessler said. “We did have a chuckle about it, though, because it garnered more attention than we realized it would.”

The work may have helped with Clark's game. She opened the season with her third career triple-double, scoring 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the 93-58 win over the Sky.
Clark had a bit more motivation for the season opener as she faced fellow 2024 rookie sensation Angel Reese, the latest chapter in their rivalry.
“Rivalries are real, and that’s what makes sports so amazing,” Clark said, via the Guardian. “There’s certain teams that those games just mean a little bit more. [We] come out here and play the same way every night, but [a rivalry] gets the fans involved, and they love it.”
