Caitlin Clark is sidelined with an injury, but the Indiana Fever guard continues to capture hearts.
Ahead of the Fever’s elimination Game 4 against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark shared a touching pregame moment with a baby girl that quickly went viral on social media.
A fan video showed Clark gently carrying the baby, who wore a tiny jersey with Clark’s number. At first, the baby cried, seemingly unsure of who was holding her.
Clark responded by softly patting the child’s back, squatting down to comfort her and eventually hugging her closer.
Sports photographer Bri Lewerke also captured the exchange, sharing snapshots of the tender moment on X, further boosting its visibility online.

Though Clark was ruled out for the season with a groin injury, she has stayed highly visible during the Fever’s playoff push. She played only 13 games this year, averaging 16.5 points, five rebounds and 8.8 assists before being shut down.
From the sidelines, Clark has embraced her role as a fan favorite. Before Sunday’s must-win Game 4, she signed a remarkable 48 autographs in just two minutes inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The WNBA even highlighted the feat on its official accounts.

Her commitment to engaging with fans has been consistent all year. During a road game in Chicago this summer, Clark ignored security’s attempts to cut short her autograph session, staying nearly 20 minutes to sign items for over 200 people.
Clark’s absence has been felt on the court. Indiana dropped back-to-back games to Las Vegas after taking Game 1, with the Aces’ defense exposing the Fever’s need for Clark’s playmaking and long-range shooting.
Kelsey Mitchell has carried the scoring load, but her efficiency dipped under heavy defensive pressure. Without Clark stretching the floor and creating for others, the Fever’s offense has sputtered.
Still, Clark’s presence remains a rallying point. From autograph marathons to her superstition-driven footwear choices, she has found ways to stay connected with the Fever community.
As the Fever fight to keep their season alive, Clark’s role has shifted — but her influence hasn’t faded. Whether the Fever extends the series or not, the pregame baby moment has already given fans a memory that will last beyond the playoffs.
