Caitlin Clark's Unusual Behavior During Fever-Mystics Game Draws Attention
Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-Imagn Images

Caitlin Clark was in a jovial mood on Tuesday night as the Indiana Fever finally busted out of their recent losing slump. After securing an 85-76 victory over the Washington Mystics on Tuesday, the Fever marked their first win in four games to improve to 3-4 in the season.

This was also Indiana's first win without Clark, who continues to nurse a quad injury that has kept her out of three straight contests now.

A video of Clark from the Mystics game is currently making its rounds on social media. The brief clip shows the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year's unusual behavior during the game as Clark suddenly decided to bust out her dance moves.

Clark had a big smile on her face as she grooved to the beat. It's not every day that fans get to see a dancing Caitlin Clark, which is why her rather unexpected moves drew a lot of attention on social media.

"Dancing queen," a comment on X read.

"SHES SO CUTSESY" said another.

"she’s getting her groove back " observed a user.

"Caitlin is dancing againnnnn. look at what winning does to a person " a reaction read.

"Rare Cait dance sighting. " another said

"I don’t need Caitlin, Ferris Buelering this injury. Sit your dancing (expletive) down girl, we need you back!" demanded a fan.

Whatever the case might be, Clark should be back on the floor playing sooner rather than later.

The 23-year-old is expected to sit out Saturday's highly anticipated matchup against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. However, there is a good chance that she will be able to return on Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream after initially being ruled out for two weeks.

Lynx look to keep rolling at home against strong Dream squad

Not only are the Minnesota Lynx winning consistently at home, their margins of victory are increasing. Coming off a pair of blowout home wins, the Lynx attempt to improve to 15-0 in league home games Sunday night when they host the Atlanta Dream. Minnesota (22-4) has won four straight since a six-point road loss to the Chicago Sky on July 12. After opening a five-game homestand with a 79-66 win over the Phoenix Mercury on July 16, the Lynx followed up their 23-point win over Sky on July 22 with a 109-78 rout of the Las Vegas Aces on Friday. WNBA leading scorer Napheesa Collier scored 25 points, reaching that mark for the 11th time this season. Courtney Williams added 23 as the Lynx set a season high for points, reached 100 points for the third time this season and shot 54.4 percent in a game coach Cheryl Reeve described as their best game from "probably start to finish." "We move the basketball, we make you have to guard side-to-side and inside-out, we share it, and we don't care who gets the credit," Reeve told winsidr.com last week. "That's our identity." Atlanta (14-10) took a 96-92 overtime home loss to Minnesota on June 27 when Collier scored 26. The Dream are 4-4 since the previous meeting and 7-7 in their past 14 games. So far, Atlanta is 2-3 on a six-game road trip and has scored at least 85 in both wins. On Wednesday, the Dream bounced back from an 87-72 loss at Las Vegas with a 90-79 win over the Phoenix Mercury. Allisha Gray scored 28 to match her second-highest total this season while Brittney Griner added 17 in her return to Phoenix. The performances by Gray and Griner fueled a strong offensive showing for Atlanta. The Dream's win in Phoenix marked the second time this season they shot at least 50 percent from the field and the ninth time they scored at least 90 points. "Obviously we feel really good," Atlanta coach Karl Smesko said. "Anytime you can beat a real good team on their home floor you're going to feel good about that."

All signs point to Yankees moving on from Anthony Volpe

All signs point to Yankees moving on from Anthony Volpe

With the trade for Ryan McMahon now complete, it would seem New York Yankees’ general manager Brian Cashman has fulfilled one of his three priorities. He can now cross third base off the list, which leaves the rotation and bullpen as his remaining priorities. However, according to one Yankees writer, Cashman might not be done with the infield. Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reported this after the McMahon trade: “The Yankees may not be done adding to their infield. A team source said the Yankees are interested in adding a right-handed hitter who could play the infield.” Kirschner adds that the Yankees have had interest in Willi Castro and Amed Rosario. But the question now is, how would another player fit in the Yankees’ infield? Needless to say, Paul Goldschmidt and Jazz Chisholm Jr. aren’t going anywhere, and McMahon is just getting there. That leaves the low-hanging fruit. Anthony Volpe has been at the center of controversy all this season. His 13 errors, many of which had come at make-or-break moments, amount to the second-highest total in the game. In addition, his bat has not been able to compensate, hitting .214/.286/.407 with 14 home runs. There was always a lot to like about Volpe. He won a Gold Glove in his rookie year, his power has always been promising and his speed is nothing to scoff at. Unfortunately, his glove has become a liability and his speed has also produced very few results. Volpe has swiped just 10 bags in 17 attempts. His power is the one thing that still has some upside, but it hasn’t been enough to justify a spot in the lineup. Both Castro and Rosario have been far more productive at the plate this season than Volpe. Kirschner doesn’t clarify how serious the Yankees are in their pursuit of another infielder, but that most likely isn’t available information. Having just turned 24, Volpe could still become the type of player that was expected from him as a top prospect. However, his recent performance has weighed heavily on his team’s efforts and it may be buying him a ticket out of the Bronx — or at least a spot on the bench.

Green Bay Packers: Released Titans CB, Undrafted Free Agent Fills Final 91st Spot on Green & Gold Roster

Three days into training camp, with a day off Saturday, the Green Bay Packers announced the final signing to fill the 91-player offseason unit: cornerback Garnett Hollis Jr., added as undrafted free agent by the Titans in May but released later to clear roster room. Hollis joins Green Bay Packers’ motley crew of CBs behind top 3 guys Hollis played four seasons in college, his last with West Virginia after transferring from Northwestern. In three years of real playing time, he recorded 120 tackles, 2 INTs, and 12 passes defensed. He started 29 of 39 career games. The 6-foot, 199-pound corner is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, but will head back north for the summer. The Packers have announced that he will wear no. 41 during camp. Although the 90th and 91st signings were named together in the team’s formal release, the arrival of running back Israel Abanikanda, a waiver pickup from San Francisco, was reported yesterday by various sources. Over at cornerback, Hollis will join fellow rookies Jonathan Baldwin, Tyron Herring, and Micah Robinson, Green Bay’s penultimate pick of the 2025 draft at 237th overall. In addition to that group is a number of fringe players with or without NFL snaps. Bo Melton has also completed his CB position switch from receiver. The only sure things at the position are Keisean Nixon, free agent signing Nate Hobbs, and third-year man Carrington Valentine. According to his West Virginia bio, Hollis earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern in education and social policy, and worked toward a master’s in sports management while with the Mouintaneers. Although undrafted free agents, let alone 91st signings, have an uphill battle, playing alongside a guy like Valentine, who has made a career for himself as a former 232nd pick, can offer encouragement. Per Spotrac, Hollis, 23, made $82,500 in guaranteed money, including a $12,500 signing bonus, from his contract with Tennessee.

Cowboys fans send animated two-word message to Jerry Jones

Dallas Cowboys fans appear to have one thing on their mind during training camp, and they made sure to let team owner Jerry Jones know about it on Saturday. Hundreds of Cowboys fans showed up to the team's annual "Opening Day Ceremony" on Saturday in Oxnard, California. Jones addressed the crowd, and the 82-year-old was greeted with a lot of restless supporters when he took the microphone. As Jones began talking about how disappointed he was with his team's 7-10 season last year, many fans shouted the same two-word message: "Pay Micah!" The fans eventually settled enough for Jones to urge them to take note of all the changes the Cowboys have made this offseason. "I was shocked last year when we ended up with the record that we had. I never saw that coming. I want you to know, and I want you to look for as you watch practices this week, I want you to watch what we've done in the areas that we needed to work on," Jones said. "Look at what we've done in this offensive line. Look at what we've done, if you will, with our receiver cops. Look at what we're doing with our defense. A lot of changes out here -- a lot of coaching changes, a lot of player changes." Parsons is set to make $24M in the final year of his rookie contract this season. He is undoubtedly seeking to become the highest-paid defensive player in football, which would mean topping the $41M per year T.J. Watt recently got with his new deal from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Parsons had 12 or more sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons. Jones has hinted that he is playing hardball with the star linebacker in contract negotiations, and Cowboys fans do not seem to appreciate it.
