Chicago Sky Coach Assigns Blame for Disappointing Loss in Angel Reese's Return

Not even Angel Reese’s return to action was enough to spare the Chicago Sky from their blushes on Tuesday night. The two-time All-Star was back in the mix after missing two straight games due to a back injury, but in the end, it was still the same result for Chicago.

Despite a respectable effort, the Sky still fell short on the road to the Washington Mystics, 103-86. This marked the Sky’s sixth straight loss and their 19th defeat in 26 games played this season.

Sky Coach Tyler Marsh Speaks Out After Tough Loss

In his postgame press conference, Sky head coach Tyler Marsh stated that the offense was not the problem for his team on Tuesday night. According to the rookie shot-caller, it was Chicago’s defensive shortcomings that led to their demise.

"I wasn't too upset at our offense tonight,” he said, via Sky beat reporter Karli Bell. “It was our defense that told the story of the game."

Marsh also highlighted his team’s interior defense as one of the most significant factors in the loss.

"We didn't do a great job at protecting the paint today and that was the difference in the game," he said.
