The Chicago Sky are still looking for their first win after an 0-3 start to the 2025 WNBA season. None of their games have been particularly close thus far, as they have lost by a total of 73 points in their first three contests.

Two-time WNBA champion Courtney Vandersloot and veteran guard Rebecca Allen are currently leading the team with 9.7 points per game. However, 2024 All-Star forward Angel Reese has been the team's most impactful player, averaging 9.0 points and a league-leading 13.7 rebounds per contest.

On Tuesday, the Sky will travel to Phoenix to take on the 3-1 Mercury in a late-window game.

Phoenix is paced by forward Alyssa Thomas, who is currently averaging 16.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists per contest through four games. She is also shooting 50.0% from the floor in 33 minutes a night.

Before Tuesday's matchup between the Sky and Mercury, new Chicago head coach Tyler Marsh spoke about Thomas. He said that Reese had a lot of similarities to Thomas, who was a First-Team All-WNBA honoree in 2023 and 2024.

"I think that there's a lot of similarities there from a young Angel to where (Alyssa Thomas) is," Marsh said. "In terms of style of play, yeah, I think she's someone that Angel can continue to emulate and embody and look up to in terms of how she utilizes her versatility from rebounding to facilitating to scoring to playing defense, so there's a lot of good characteristics."

Reese is off to a strong start in her career, as she made both the All-Star and All-Rookie teams in 2024 after scoring 13.6 points per contest. She also broke several records with her 13.1 rebounds per game mark.

Thomas is a five-time All-Star, five-time All-Defense honoree, and a three-time All-WNBA player. She is in her first season with the Mercury after spending 11 seasons with the Connecticut Sun.

Tuesday will provide another opportunity for coach Marsh and the Sky to get their first win of the season, but it will be tough considering Phoenix is 3-0 at home. The game will tip off at 10:00 p.m. EST.
